He is an absolute shyster who has no regard for his customers or the work that they do. I recently took my scooter in to have it repaired by them. It took them over 5 weeks to even call me to let me know what the problem was. Then, when I went to pick it up they had added a charge for something they supposedly did after they said it was fixed. When I refused to pay this, George proceeded with vulgarities and piss poor behavior. I will never do business with them again, they are untrustworthy and probably should not be in business at all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-58182850156210829422009-11-20T14:03:40.964-05:002009-11-20T14:03:40.964-05:00Very interesting video. A high percentage of the scoots today are manufactured in China, higher price point Buyers require higher quality from the Chinese factories. So, as you may notice, the zippier looking scoots, and these "Retro" models, have many "twin" counterparts, offered by different sellers under different brands and model names, they are all "basically" the same. Some of the issues I have read about, in the lower cost models are electrical wiring and hoses, failing relatively soon after purchase. Some buy the scoot, and for a few dollars, replace the entire hose and wiring structure, before putting it on the road. But what it comes down to is this; for the most part, they are identical, with the exception of body style, they're all running a GY6 engine, which is a Honda clone. some have another type of engine, but they all are copying Honda and Yamaha. For high end Quality, may I suggest the much better (and pricier) Vespa....this is the King of scootsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-23651565767783676942009-04-03T16:51:00.000-04:002009-04-03T16:51:00.000-04:00great. www.scootforum.com is the bestgreat. www.scootforum.com is the bestAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-31967493421127767882009-04-03T16:44:00.000-04:002009-04-03T16:44:00.000-04:00Umm. I think it is because somehow the bikers think their bike reflects who they are to satisfy their insecurities, whereas scooter people are secure enough to not need bikes to make them feel worthy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-15434571861063829242009-03-17T14:37:00.000-04:002009-03-17T14:37:00.000-04:00Sounds like the state is getting desperate for tax...Sounds like the state is getting desperate for tax revenue revenue and are going to try and mandate moped plates which up till this point has been voluntary.

Personally, I ride a 50cc and have a helmet and pay insurance, though I have mixed feelings about this.

There are way too many young riders out there who should not be on a scooter at all, then again there are a lot of us older riders who have been riding for a decade plus who are getting to get penalized for this cash grab.

There are already a lot of restriction placed on the 50cc - class as it is as to where we can ride. It may not be a big deal if you're in an urban area, but for those of us in the countryside in rural Maryland, those restrictions already hit us hard to run simple errands like going to the store of the post office.

With all things considering that people are moving towards these scooters to save on gas and pollute less, if this passes, it will only do more harm to the green movement than anything else.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-4523592845362731802009-03-17T14:30:00.000-04:002009-03-17T14:30:00.000-04:00Looks identical to the old Vino 50Looks identical to the old Vino 50Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-49574968264329830732009-03-11T23:23:00.000-04:002009-03-11T23:23:00.000-04:00I'm envious... 67 degrees?! Lots of answers can swirl around in my head but when my feet are planted most firmly on the ground I know I write, ride, and make photographs as part of my own creative exploration. Sharing them on a blog is in part a stick to keep me working and not let inertia glue me to the couch and television set. If an audience finds use in what I contribute that is a plus on another level but not the driving one.

And since I don't monetize my blog I don't have that to attend to.

Steve Williams
Scooter in the SticksSteve Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04540977884513559091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-65269392080478995022009-02-20T14:47:00.000-05:002009-02-20T14:47:00.000-05:00this is glorious. i love sasha.this is glorious. i love sasha.Ivebeenshothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16360824645783852089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-25686998592222474682009-02-11T14:21:00.000-05:002009-02-11T14:21:00.000-05:00Actually, lots of models stay the same. Even Toyota Prius (see pix of the 2010 model).

That the problem when you're dealing with an icon. The world won't accept anything that deviates too far from the original concept. I have bought my first Vectrix, blue coloures, in Spring and I have never smiled so much on bike as with this vehicle. And belive me, I have experience with motorbikes (Benelli Tornado 650S in the seventies, Suzuki GSX 750ccm in the eighties, which I still own and a couple of more powerful in between)
As I live in hilly Switzerland, doing 3 times a daily trip of 4 miles from 1200 to 4000 feet and in addition to it doing some more 30 miles in less challenging environment but on a highway too I think I am exhausting the bike to its limits.
I can assure you: This bike goes up the hill like weighing nothing, identicall to a 650ccm, but with mor aggressive reaction to the throttle. It's pure fun.
And riding noiseless either with 6 or speeds of more than 70 miles makes you smile all the time.
And there is another certain third grin on my face! Why?

As I own a HUMMER H2 too, I bought me another Vectrix Scooter customized for me in the same yellow colour of the H2. If people ask for the consumption of the the HUMMER I only say: Don't bother, mind the balance of both!!

Despite this, It has the advantage to have one Vectrix been charged all the time and no technical problems with both so far.

What do you want else you moaners and sourpusses?

Have it gold-plated for a dime?
Brgds
Jadam
Lake LucerneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915324448954087240.post-11824069690423494312008-12-21T22:37:00.000-05:002008-12-21T22:37:00.000-05:00Though Mike Boyle is no Andy McGowan (founder and ...Though Mike Boyle is no Andy McGowan (founder and former CEO of Vectrix), I can honestly say Mike has not made any significant inroads to improving Vectrix’s bike, it still stinks! The range is the same, the cost is down, only because they are no seeing others materialize in the form of real competition for Vectrix, such as EVC USA, the bike handles the same, the mechanics are the same, BUT they have added some new colors to draw some attention to themselves, and big deal that they have added a new seat for women, since they original is so big very few people could ride it! I’ll pass on Vectrix! And I will pass on Mike Boyle and their annoying Director of Sales for North America, who babbles on for hours about nothing but crap, Victor Pritzker!

Oh, to top it off, Vectrix is introducing a cheaper version of their bike in 2009, made in China, with a Vectrix label pasted on it! Wow, desperate move Vectrix!

Folks, Vectrix had some great fundamental ides, but it won’t be them that makes it happen in the all electrical world, try someone else, such as EVC USA, or anyone else, but NOT Vectrix!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
