Vectrix Corporation (www.vectrix.com), the world leader in highway legal, all-electric, two-wheel Personal Electric Vehicles, today announced its 2009 Vx-1, a redesigned version of the Vectrix Personal Electric Vehicle with new graphics in four vibrant colors and a new line of accessories that make the Vx-1 accessible to a wider range of customers—particularly women.
Vectrix will unveil the 2009 Vx-1 at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show at Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, Calif., Dec. 5-7.
The 2009 Vx-1 will be available in dealerships by January 2009. The MSRP is $10,495.
“Vectrix appeals to men and women of all ages, and our new model and accessories make the Vx-1 available to more people who are looking for good clean fun,” said Mike Boyle, Vectrix CEO.
The Vx-1 will be available with new graphics in white/burgundy red, white/metallic silver, white/sapphire blue and white/acid green. The new 2009 accessories feature an optional seat that is significantly lower than the Vx-1 standard seat and shaped to give riders with a smaller frame the ability to place both feet on the ground at each stop.

Though Mike Boyle is no Andy McGowan (founder and former CEO of Vectrix), I can honestly say Mike has not made any significant inroads to improving Vectrix’s bike, it still stinks! The range is the same, the cost is down, only because they are no seeing others materialize in the form of real competition for Vectrix, such as EVC USA, the bike handles the same, the mechanics are the same, BUT they have added some new colors to draw some attention to themselves, and big deal that they have added a new seat for women, since they original is so big very few people could ride it! I’ll pass on Vectrix! And I will pass on Mike Boyle and their annoying Director of Sales for North America, who babbles on for hours about nothing but crap, Victor Pritzker!
Oh, to top it off, Vectrix is introducing a cheaper version of their bike in 2009, made in China, with a Vectrix label pasted on it! Wow, desperate move Vectrix!
Folks, Vectrix had some great fundamental ides, but it won’t be them that makes it happen in the all electrical world, try someone else, such as EVC USA, or anyone else, but NOT Vectrix!!
I really do not understand why people must talk down a good product, when there is nothing better on the market. I have bought my first Vectrix, blue coloures, in Spring and I have never smiled so much on bike as with this vehicle. And belive me, I have experience with motorbikes (Benelli Tornado 650S in the seventies, Suzuki GSX 750ccm in the eighties, which I still own and a couple of more powerful in between)
As I live in hilly Switzerland, doing 3 times a daily trip of 4 miles from 1200 to 4000 feet and in addition to it doing some more 30 miles in less challenging environment but on a highway too I think I am exhausting the bike to its limits.
I can assure you: This bike goes up the hill like weighing nothing, identicall to a 650ccm, but with mor aggressive reaction to the throttle. It's pure fun.
And riding noiseless either with 6 or speeds of more than 70 miles makes you smile all the time.
And there is another certain third grin on my face! Why?
As I own a HUMMER H2 too, I bought me another Vectrix Scooter customized for me in the same yellow colour of the H2. If people ask for the consumption of the the HUMMER I only say: Don't bother, mind the balance of both!!
Despite this, It has the advantage to have one Vectrix been charged all the time and no technical problems with both so far.
What do you want else you moaners and sourpusses?
Have it gold-plated for a dime?
